At Trail Ridge Home Care, we’re committed to elevating the privilege of caregiving – it’s one of our five core values.
“Our caregivers are amazing. They’re rock stars. They’re the heart and hands of our organization,” said Jeff Hongslo, chief executive officer of American Baptist Homes of the Midwest (ABHM).“We’re beyond grateful for our team of caregivers who work day-in and day-out to help seniors age safely in their homes for as long as possible. Their compassion and commitment to seniors are second to none.”
During the pandemic, others realized what we’ve known for a long time – professional caregivers are essential workers. At Trail Ridge Home Care, they receive world-class training and follow customized care plans to provide seniors with companionship and non-medical assistance with activities of daily living, including:
- Medication management
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Light housekeeping
- Pet care
- Personal care – bathing, toileting, etc.
- Alzheimer’s care
- Fall prevention
“It takes a very special person to be a caregiver. Most want more than a paycheck – they want to give back to their community,” Hongslo said. “Our team includes caregivers of all ages and backgrounds – from college students who are thinking about a career in medicine, to moms who want to make a little extra money and retirees who want an encore career.”
As Thanksgiving approaches, we’re grateful for so many things – a strong leadership team that keeps us moving forward, incredibly supportive partners, an amazing office staff that always goes above and beyond and, of course, our caregivers – those on the front lines who provide our clients with exceptional care.
“It’s a privilege to care for the seniors in the communities we serve,” Hongslo said. “And it’s a privilege to work with so many wonderful people – men and women who are committed to improving the lives of seniors and their families.”
